Scripture: Genesis 22, 23 & 24

The younger group studied and talked about Abraham, Eliezer and Rebekah. How that Abraham obeyed God, he had feared God because he know God was real. And when God made a promise to Abraham, he had to believe it because if God promises something, He will have to do exactly what He said He would or He wouldn’t be God. God doesn’t lie, He loves you, just like your parents love you and your friends. God loves you more than all of them. You are a part of Him and He is a part of you.

The life is in the blood, meaning you and I are of God because we are under His blood. We have to look past what our mind wants us to think, that we are human and made of this fleshly temple but we are unique people, we are heirs to the throne of God, we are part of the Family of Christ.

Next time you’ll be studying in:

Genesis 25, 26
Matt 1 & 2
Romans 1 & 2
James 1 & 2
Proverbs 1 & 2

Don’t miss it!

God Bless.

This past Fridays’ bible study was a little different for us, we all gathered at the Bedford Boys Ranch under one of the pavilions an after dinner and our bible study was over we had a nice little bonfire with some praise and worship to the Lord. It was definitely a great time.

Scripture: I Timothy 3

For those who had studied our homework assignment from the time before and where present know that Bro. Mike pointed out how that Romans 12 and I Timothy 3 tie really close together and in a way reference each other. I am going to list the main points we talked about and believe me there were a lot. Take the time through the next week or so and study both chapters and pray that God will reveal to you what is hidden within.

List in no particular order.

Verse 14 - Talking about what things he is writing unto them.
Verse 15  - And why he is writing to them.

A note I made that should be already known to us but I will mention it, the House of God is the Body of Christ, which is us. Don’t mistaken the House of God to be a physical building such as our church. It is you and I.

Acts 7:48-49
Acts 17:24-25
Heb 10:5

Romans 12:1-2
How easy it is to  misunderstand the real meaning God is trying to get across to us when approach the spiritual Word of God with our carnal way of thinking. And if someone attempts to tell you something ‘’so called” scriptural how will you know if it is true or not unless you dive into the word on your own and have a revelation of it.

Other scriptures references:

Eph 1:4
Phil 2:15
Col 3:16
Rom 12: 10, 13 & 18

I Timothy 3 <–ties with–> Romans 12 (Reread them both)

Bro. Mike brought the point out about being a novice and how you could be given to pride. Read what the scriptures say about it.

Read the Word of God so you may know how to behave and live.

And the great mystery of Godliness is God dwelling in the flesh.

These are some things we went over and discussed, I scribbled some notes for referencing back and remember what we talked about, I pray you can take them and dig deeper.

Homework: Continue studying Romans 12 for the next study.

Scripture: I Timothy 2:1

As we read through the scriptures we were able to identify some key points that were make throughout our reading. Below is listed some of the main verse’s we had discussions around.

Verse 2 : It talks about how we should focus and pray for those in authority positions, such as our parents, pastor and other spiritual leaders our church. They have large responsibilities and we should all look up to them for guidance and leadership. The influence that is made on us from those in authority positions, should be from the Holy Spirit within them.

Verse 6

Verse 8 : The importance of praying everywhere, without having wrath and doubting. When you actually stop for just a moment and think about it, the devil is around us everywhere we go, he tries to be involved in everything we do to find a way to tempt us or steer us wrongly, he doesn’t ask to come along, he just comes. But God, being the gentleman He is, will only come when He is invited. Let us always pray, whether verbally or within our hearts, we are the only ones that can bring God on the scene. We are the true ambassadors for Christ.

We discussed many of the other verses as well, all of which are extremely edifying. So make the opportunity to reread and study back over this chapter. In my notes I made a notation of a statement that was made by one of the brothers. Christians, both women and men, should not only act different but also look different. We always find ourselves wanting to fit in at school or any events we are involved with, it is easy for us to overlook the fact that we have adopted influences of others. Let us be cautious and aware of our influences and let US BE THE INFLUENCE.

May God Richly Bless You.

Study: 1st Timothy 1:1

Tonight we began our first study in the book of Timothy. We learned of Timothy being a young person just like each one of us and no doubt he was challenged with many similar experiences and trials that we face each day. But his choice to serve Christ in his youth gave him an advantage over the enemy. With the strength of the Lord and the leading of the Holy Spirit he was able to live a life virtuous and spotless before God.

We were broken into small groups of 6-8 people and were asked to derive 3 points from the first chapter of Timothy that stood out to each of us. Together we collaborated and the task of only gathering ‘3′ points seemed to be too small. We could very well list just about every verse from chapter 1 and have something great to say about them. I compiled a list of some items brought forth and have included the verse number associated with each.

Points that Stood Out: (In no particular order.)

1. Verse 1 - Paul makes a bold statement proclaiming who and what he is without a question in mind, he makes it clear of his standings. Likewise, it reveals to us that we too should know who and what we are and with that revelation we should never be afraid to let it be known.

2. Verse 5 - Emphasized that its not law but it’s the LOVE of God.

3. Verse 18 - Speaking of “war a good warfare” and having been a prophecy.

4. Verses 5-7 - Being manifestations of the word and not just having the knowledge or natural understanding.

5. Verse 7-10 - Clarifies that this Word was not made for the righteous but made for the sinner.

Those are just some of the points we covered though it would do good to review the whole chapter and see if the Lord would reveal anything specifically to you. Until next time may God richly bless you and keep you. I look forward to our next youth meeting. Date to be announced.

Don’t forget the homework assignment of memorizing Psalms 34.
